Why wait for LEGO Ideas' E.T. set when you can have Eevee.T?

LEGO Eevee has been rebuilt once more, this time taking on the form of something beyond Pokémon and beating the LEGO Ideas team to the punch.

Shortly after its release earlier this year, 72151 Eevee was transformed by CreationCaravan, aka Brad Barber, into a scaled Bidoof build. Since then, the fan has gone on to reimagine LEGO Eevee as another Pokémon, but their third rebuild of the model is far different.

They're beating the LEGO Ideas team to the upcoming buildable E.T. figure set by remixing 72151 Eevee into the alien character. They've used 418 of the original set's 587 pieces for this alternate build, even making use of Eevee's printed eyes.

By turning those eyes upside down, it recreates the character's bulbous eyes to the best of the set's ability. It's a great use of a creature-specific printed piece and works better for a chibi-style E.T. than it ought to.

The alternate build is a decent stand-in while we wait for the official LEGO Ideas E.T. set to be released. It's one of several models currently in production, but with no additional information since its approval.

72151 Eevee is available now for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 with the option to build Eevee.T. when you pick up the $6 instructions on Rebrickable. You can always turn it back into Eevee once the official LEGO Ideas E.T. set is revealed.
